Advertising Should Create Sales

July 3rd, 2009
by Dennis Gartland II

Opinions on Advertising are as conflicting as opinions on Religion. Forty per cent of all the people in the world are Buddhists, and are of the Opinion that Buddhism is the only true religion. Twelve per cent of the world?s people being Roman Catholics, are firm in the opinion that the remaining 88 percent are wrong, and sure of damnation accordingly.

Too many CEO’s seem satisfied to spend their money on mere opinions about advertising when they might have invested it on facts about advertising. Perhaps the salesperson was attractive you they got some good sports tickets. These are the Advertisers whose company must fail before they can be convinced that Branding is not enough and that customers have to be given a reason to buy.

They blindly gamble in Advertising when they might have safely invested in it. If they were to buy any other kind of Service, except Advertising, they would demand tangible proof of its efficacy before they spent money on it. If they hired a Salesman, for instance, they would expect him to prove he was earning his salary by making a satisfactory Record on Sales. They would not accept, for long, statements from him that he was? Making a General impression on the Trade? for his salary. Nor would they be satisfied with the statement that he was branding profitably enough to compensate for lack of sales.

Advertising is and should be “Salesmanship-on-paper.” If it is anything less than Salesmanship it is not real Advertising, but only “name recognition.” And, “General Publicity” admittedly claims only to “Brand,” to make sales easier for the salespeople.

Faulty ads make the same lame excuses as would be made by a Salesman who failed to earn his salary by actually selling goods. But branding, or any other Advertising, should be judged by the same standards as the Salesperson is judged, by the products it is clearly proven to sell and the return on investment it generates

The Masonic Temple and Freemasonry - Is It A Religion Or A Cult

July 3rd, 2009
by Simon Gray

It?s interesting to ponder on the possibility that many individuals have had relatives that were Masons at some point of time and didn’t even realize it. Was it because those relatives were so secretive about their involvement?, or it just went unnoticed.

It would seem that Masons, non-Masons and anti masons all have their own detailed explanation as to what Freemasonry really is. The problem is that no two explanations ever seem to agree in their entirety. In fact one Mason will give his version as to what the organization is all about, and then you can ask the next Mason that comes along the same question and you will get an entirely different explanation. You will be hard pressed to believe that they are of the same organization.

There is no definite date as to when Freemasonry became a reality. It is believed it dates back to the 1700?s during the time of the stonemasons and perhaps dealt with the influence of the Knights Templar. These were Christian warrior monks who were responsible for aiding pilgrims cross the Holly Land. They ended up forming a Grand Lodge in England and they are the administrative sector of the Grand Lodges according to sectors. In the USA it seems there is a Grand Lodge in every state and in Canada one in every province. Therefore, you can see they are not a small organization by any means. It is speculated that in the USA alone there are over 1300 Lodges.

Freemasonry spread from England to the United States and boasted of many Political figures as part of their membership such as George Washington and Benjamin Franklin for example. It is said that the Freemasons played an important part in the revolutionary war. Plus it is said that many of the debates around the ratification of the bill of rights and the constitutional convention took place in Masonic Lodges.

The Lodge is the meeting place of the local chapter of Masons. The symbolic teachings that take place amongst the Mason focuses on the lessons that were learned during the construction of King Solomon?s temple during the biblical days. This is where the term Lodge originated. It would seem that during the winter months when the Masons were unable, to work, they would build Lodges for shelter and this is where the Lodge concept is taken from.

It?s interesting to note that the House of Commons in London depicts the layout of the Lodge. England was the founding father of the Freemasons and that which was known to spread to the USA so the English titles remained. In organizations that would refer to their leaders as president this fraternity refers to theirs as the The worshipful Master of the Lodge.

It is reported that every Lodge has their own alter that is required to hold the Volume of the Sacred Law. It is stated that in the USA and Canada that is mostly the Bible.

The backbone belief of the Freemasons is that every individual is designated to make the world a better place to live. No matter how small, one individual should strive to make the life of another individual better. Financial figures state that the Masons spend 1.4 million dollars on a daily basis for charity purpose. Donating money to Children?s Hospitals often sphere headed by the Shriners. Then there is the Scottish Rite Mason who supports a vast amount of charities. Then there are many acts of kindness that goes unnoticed, as the Freemasons reportedly do not boast of their good works.

The Masons feel it is their duty to encourage their members to be constantly striving towards the betterment of their already good qualities. They almost consider themselves a support group for the morals they believe in and stand by. It would appear they favor each other?s company because of their common beliefs.

In addition to all their charitable works, the members of the Freemasons enjoy the time they spend at their Lodges. Aside from it being an only male membership, they are family orientated and plan many family events such as picnics and outings.

There are two types of meeting that take place at the Lodges. One is the usual business meeting. These always start and end with a ceremony dedicated to the living values that the Mason stands for. There is the reading of the minutes such as would take place at any organized gathering and the voting of any applicants. There is the planning of charitable functions and personal events. The members are referred to as Brothers in this fraternity. The next type of meeting would be the initiation meeting. Here is where new members are welcomed into the Freemasonry. This done by way of ritual or formally known as degrees.

It is said that every Lodge has functions at the Lodge outside of their membership for example there are Ladies nights or bring a friend, which constitutes an open to the public scenario.

Remedies For Cold Sores - Stopping Your Cold Sore Attacks

July 3rd, 2009
by Denny Bodoh

Would you like some awesome home remedies for cold sores? Then read this article. It will reveal excellent and time-tested remedies for cold sores that may surprise you.

Remedies for cold sores are available everywhere. Some do provide a little comfort. Seldom, however, do they shorten the cold sore healing period.

The best remedies for cold sores will do both. They should relieve the suffering as well as heal the cold sore fast.

You will see that these home remedies for cold sores often work much better than the expensive over-the-counter products.

Some really good remedies for cold sores are listed below. You should use two or more at the same time for best results.

VITAMIN THERAPY. This is basic if you are tired of repeated cold sore interruptions. Start using a good daily vitamin and mineral supplement. You will be much more able to fight off cold sore attacks.

All the vitamins and minerals will help build up your immunity. There are some, however, that are particularly good in dealing with cold sore virus.

Calcium is required to keep your body alkaline. If you do not take in what you need, your body steals calcium from your bones. 1000 milligrams daily is the minimum.

You seldom will get cold sore outbreaks, when your body is in the healthy alkaline state.

B12 is very important too. Scientists discovered a deficiency of B12 in people with active cold sore virus. All the B vitamins work best together. They will reduce the effects of stress - your biggest cold sore trigger.

Zinc is the top healing mineral. It is effective against most viruses including the cold sore virus. Your daily serving of vitamins and minerals should contain around 15 milligrams of zinc.

Vitamin C is another powerhouse. It boosts the good effects of all the other vitamins. Your vitamin plan should provide for at least 500 milligrams each day.

BLACK OR HERBAL TEA. Tea contains many amazing restorative and anti-viral properties. You will benefit most by putting a wet bag on the sore - and drinking some too.

If your cold sore is just beginning, apply a frozen tea bag instead of the usual ice.

Just soak the bag and freeze. Then use like ice directly on the cold sore target area. It not only gives you wonderful relief, but may often keep the virus from doing further damage.

Once your sore burst open, quit using a frozen tea bag. Use a warm one instead. During this healing period, cold slows down wound repair. Warmth speeds it up.

Do not use your microwave to heat-up a tea bag. The microwaves destroy the phytonutrients. Heat the water, then immerse the bag. Better yet, use your stove-top.

TEA TREE OIL. This a beneficial oil from the bark of a tree found in Australia. It smells and tastes like turpentine. You can find it in many vitamin departments.

Tea tree oil is one of the most powerful remedies for cold sores. It penetrates the skin so begin applying it at the very first warning of a cold sore event.

When your cold sore finally opens, tea tree oil will sterilize the area and help in reducing virus spread. Once your sore scabs over, keep applying the oil to reduce cracking.

NATURAL HONEY. Honey is one of the oldest remedies for cold sores, and it still works great today. It has amazing properties for prevention and healing of any cold sore.

Honey will give you success when applied during the entire cold sore process, but is best used after the sore opens. It is a good wound dressing and provides some strong healing properties.

Try these powerful remedies for cold sores. I know you will be happy you did. There are some other advanced tactics I would love to share but I am out of space right now.

You have seen that natural cold sore treatment can be quite easy and cheap. Use them and you will quickly see these methods are terrific home remedies for cold sores.

Making Money With Articles As An Affiliate Marketer

July 2nd, 2009
by Ron Cripps

If you have the necessary knowledge to use promotional tools and marketing techniques to publicize written material or if you have the skill to write quality written articles yourself you could make nice revenue from home. You could do this by receiving part of the revenue off of sales that the company gets from people who “click through” from your site via the company’s links that are placed on your pages.

Because you will be marketing a product or service, you will have to have a brilliant sales pitch and site content to get your readers interested in the product. You must make them believe they cannot live without the product, and to keep them returning to your website over and over again for more recommendations and your useful content, which will get them clicking on your links once more.

Normally an affiliate company will only pay you for the initial sale with a client, even if they come back again, you can market more than just one product from more than one business.

If you do not feel confident writing this sort of content on your own, you can employ a writer to write for you. There are many reasons as to why you would want to pay for this type of article.

First, you will be able to inform the writer precisely what you want, what product you are trying to sell, and what direction they can go in to keep your readers interest and advised. If you utilize free content then you are left with work that may not fit your requirements exactly.

The second benefit of hiring a writer is that when you pay them for the content it then becomes yours and they can’t sell it to somebody else, only you can. Another disadvantage is that if you use free content there is no telling how many other affiliates are utilizing the identical content. Utilizing free content means that you have to use the signature file of the writer, which can send them more visitors and improve their credibility not of necessity yours.

Many companies offer nice recompense for affiliates that can pre-sell merchandise and deliver them more clients. The pre-sale will be very easy if you pick a product that is reusable and wanted by many individuals.

The secret in this state of affairs may likely be getting those clients to your website so that they have a chance to see your recommendations and click on your affiliate links.

July 2nd, 2009
by Andy Rowde

Several sources of information on the type two diabetes can be found almost everywhere. If you suspect that you have the diabetes type 2 condition or are at risk of acquiring it, type 2 diabetes information can be easily and conveniently found online. However, not every bit of online data may be accurately written. Therefore, it is necessary to set the facts straight about the common misconceptions about type 2 diabetes.

Fact #1: Diabetes has no remedy.

Accurate and reliable data on type 2 diabetes should tell you that currently, no known 100% cure on diabetes has been developed in the medical field yet. Albeit a diabetic patient can try and even prevent the diabetes condition from worsening he or she cannot completely treat it. It is therefore important to be cautious with information on type 2 diabetes that will offer to provide you with a cure.

Fact #2: Type 2 Diabetes is not fully understood.

Several studies conducted by scientific organizations are presently trying to help us in finding out more information and in understanding the type 2 diabetes. However, it is undeniable that more researches need to be done thoroughly if we are to fully understand, and consequently, develop the best possible medical prevention for type 2 diabetes as, even its definite causes cannot be fully identified. Common possible sources for this disease may be genetic heritage which makes some people insulin resistant compared to others. This hereditary trait, combined with bad diet and unhealthy lifestyle habits may worsen or increase the risk of diabetes.

Fact #3: Eating too much sugar does not necessarily cause diabetes.

Consuming too much sweets, by itself, does not really cause diabetes. However, diabetics prohibited from eating too much sweet food because of their body’s inability to process glucose. Facts about type 2 diabetes will tell you that type 2 diabetics’ body do not react to insulin. It is this insulin in our body which tells us to open up and take in glucose for energy production.

Sugar is not the only food item that diabetics are warned by doctor against. Other food items that diabetics should also be careful with is Carbohydrates and it should be the first thing that should be watched out for. Reliable and accurate information on type 2 diabetes should include instructions on how to count the carbohydrates level in your body so you can control your intake. This is because foods rich in carbohydrates produce just as much glucose as sugar and other sweets.

Fact #4: Some fruits are bad for diabetics.

People have the misconception that going on a healthy food diet of vegetables and fruits is all that is we need to address your diabetes condition. What any reliable and accurate information on type 2 diabetes should inform you, however, is that it is not about eating as much fruits and vegetables as you can to replace carbohydrates intake. A diabetic’s diet as far as fruits are concern should be about moderation and simply making sure that you eat only within your recommended daily allowance of sugars and carbohydrates, and fruits. Fruits may still contain sugar and, as a type 2 diabetic, you should try to do away with those foods that are high in the glycemic index in your information on type 2 diabetes.

Fact #5: Not all diabetics show symptoms.

Just because your body does not show any signs and symptoms of diabetes, it does not mean that you are not prone or in danger of developing it. Some diabetic patients do not realize they are diabetic until it is too late because their bodies do not exhibit any signs and symptoms of the condition. Factors such as being overweight, being advanced in age and family history on diabetes should be enough to keep you on your toes as to your diet, lifestyle and visit to the doctor.

Fact #6: Complications from diabetes can kill.

In most cases, it is not the diabetes itself that kills. To put it more correctly, diabetics die because of the complications brought about by being diabetic. Some of these complications include heart ailments as well as kidney failure.

As A Christian, Can I Be A Freemason? Joining Freemasonry

July 1st, 2009
by Simon Gray

One of the biggest contentions amongst freemasons and anti Masons has been the conception that any Christian that is a Mason is not allowed to pray in the Lodge. The retort to this is yes they can its just that there is not one specific Christian prayer or any prayer that tie to a specific religion for that matter. There is a specific Lodge prayer that all members must adhere to including Christians. What they are alluding to is one prayer, theirs, fits all religions.

In respects to Catholics being allowed to be Freemasons, the Masons have no objections but the Catholic Church does. At the same time, the Masons say they would not encourage anyone to go against their Religion. There is some speculation that the Catholic Church is not out rightly opposed to the Freemasons as they were in the past.

In respect to the Masons following a specific doctrine or supporting books as doctrines this is denied by their organization. The masons state they have no authority to tell a Mason what religion or political views they should hold by. Further to this a Mason does not have to accept the interpretation of the symbols. It would seem that many anti Masons would use the writings of Pike?s to support their cause. The Masons rebuke this stating that much of Pike?s writings were based on his concept and that of others not related to the Mason.

When it comes to the rituals, Masons are sworn by secrecy not to divulge information regarding them. Any information that has surfaced by a Mason means that person broke his pledge of secrecy. So the Masons ask can you trust that person?s word? Most Masons state that they cannot put into words about what a Mason really is; it?s just something they feel.

Being touted as a global conspiracy is just not factual according the Freemasons. They state that to begin with there is no single governing body over the entire freemasons. For the most part the Lodges stand-alone only required following the basics of the organization. Based on this then how could there be a conspiracy without a global unity. The Masons further their argument by stating that if there is such a conspiracy what is it supposes to be. If it?s based on what they say, they stand for then they feel the world would be better place .They even ask if a Masonic Government would be so bad? This to some people right there may have the connotations of a conspiracy.

Some individuals claim that there is even Mason symbols on the American dollar bill. The Masons state that if this were so, then the dollar dates back to the 1700?s anyway which is the time of the Freemasons. There is speculation about other aspects of the dollar bill as well with both the Freemasons and the anti Freemasons presenting what they feel are valid arguments.

Then of course, one cannot forget about the argument regarding the Grand High Priest. They will refer to this be symbolic to ancient times.

The Masons believe that much misunderstanding takes place in relation to the comparisons of old-world language and modern day language. Much of the terminology of the old has taken on new meaning in today?s world.

It is said that Masons refer to non-masons as being profane and this is an insult. Again, their explanation for this will go back to the difference in meaning as applicable to ancient terminology. One would think that if the majority of misunderstandings were based on this concept then much could be put to rest by modernizing their use of terminology.

Why The CN Tower Is No Longer The Tallest Tower In The World

July 1st, 2009
by Amy Nutt

Defining the world’s tallest building or the world’s tallest tower has historically been a bit of a bumpy process. The debate focused on what should be defined as a building or tower, and what part should be measured. One tower that has been a central focus of the debate is the CN Tower.

The CN Tower was built by the Canadian National Railway. A popular tourist destination located in the city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, the CN Tower, stands at a height of 553.33 meters, 1 815 ft. During construction in 1975, it overtook the height of Moscow’s, Ostankino Tower, making it the tallest free-standing structure in the world. It held the record until recent years where it lost its famous title and is now no longer identified as the tallest tower in the world.

In 1995, the American Society of Civil Engineers declared the CN Tower as one of the modern “Seven Wonders of the World.” Guinness World Records labeled the CN Tower as “the world’s tallest self-supporting tower” and “the world’s tallest free-standing tower.” In 1996, Guinness changed the tower’s classification to “World’s Tallest Building and Freestanding Structure.”

The Petronius Platform oil platform in the Gulf of Mexico is taller than the CN Tower standing at 609.9 meters, 2,001 ft, but a large part of the structure is located underwater. Emporis and the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat labeled the CN Tower as “the world’s tallest free-standing structure on land.”

After being famous as the largest free-standing structure in the world for 31 years, in 2004, the Taipei 101 in Taipei, Taiwan, which stands at 508 meters, gained the title, Tallest-Building. On September 12, 2007, The United Arab Emirates’ building, Burj Dubai, which was still under construction, overtook the record by reaching 555 meters tall. The actual designation became certified as the “Tallest Building in the World” when the building officially opened on January 17, 2009. Burj Dubai in Dubai reached 818 meters, 2684 ft., in height. Although, the Burj Dubai has its 124th-floor observatory, 442 meters in height, the CN Tower’s Sky Pod is 447 meters above ground.

The CN Tower attracts about 2 million visitors each year. Things to do in the tower include watching a film about the towers construction, walking on glass floor, having a delicious meal 1000 ft above ground at the revolving 360 Restaurant, and enjoying the spectacular view. On a clear day, visitors to the CN Tower’s observation deck can view over 160 kilometers (100 miles.)

Interesting facts about the tower include: It opened to the public on June 26, 1976, six glass-faced elevators travel at 22 km/hour (15 miles/hour) to reach the observation deck in 58 seconds, the glass floor was the first of its kind when it was opened in June 1994. It is 23.8 square meters (256 sq. ft.) of solid glass. The 360 Restaurant makes a complete rotation every 72 minutes.

For over 30 years, the CN Tower held the record for the tallest free-standing structure on land. The Tower now stands as the second-tallest free-standing structure on land in the world.

Learn New English Words With the Use of Vocabulary Quizzes

July 1st, 2009
by Chuck R Stewart

Our common misconception of everything educational is that they’re only for extremely smart people. This seems to hold especially true whenever there are difficult English words concerned, and most of us begin to lose interest at the sight of these. However, learning these does not have to be a hard process. Several books, magazines, and websites have vocabulary quizzes to facilitate the process, and they can even be kind of enjoyable.

The biggest advantage of vocabulary quizzes is that they are really very short and can test your ability to understand words less spoken. They are generally objective answer forms, since the identification test type would make it unnecessarily difficult in this case. Its also easier than the uninitiated might expect, since questions in most quizzes often have hidden help within the sentence. But just because the construction of these is geared upon making learning words easier doesn’t mean that you’ll get every single word on the first go. More often than not, you’ll probably get a lot of words wrong before you can get it correctly. But don’t worry too much when this happens, it is part of the learning process.

They make learning new words a whole lot more fun to do too, since most vocabulary quizzes “especially online ones “have sound effects and interesting visuals to keep the pace going. So if youre looking to educate your child in the lore of word mastery, then this is the best and surefire way to go. Some websites probably have less bows and frills than others, but they sure beat the ancient pastime of wading through thousands of words in your dictionary to find the more obscure words that seem to evade your intellectual grasp.

In most cases, the meaning of a word is explained through the introduction of a brief etymology, and it can give you a deeper insight on its meaning. Learning the root of a hard vocabulary word can help you see how the word was originally conceptualized. Neologisms and portmanteaus “relatively new words and a blend of two or more words, respectively “are possible and easier to make if you can practice accuracy in word use and application. Vocabulary quizzes help a lot in this matter.

With that said, they can easily widen your use of English words. The most immediate result is that this can help you express yourself better. Every adjective about yourself will all be easier to explain. Furthermore, your knowledge of the world deepens in this way, as well as your appreciation for the history involved in the etymologies. While it may also take a while to get used to the idea that vocabulary quizzes are not for nerds and geeks alone, it may also take a while to fully absorb the words full meanings and descriptions. But with an open mind and a whole lot of patience, learning through these quizzes are both rewarding and satisfying, and they’re definitely for everyone.

Freemasonary Secrets - Is It Really A Cult?
